This away "Statement Edition" jersey was worn by Donovan Mitchell on November 27, 2022, when the Cleveland Cavaliers played the Detroit Pistons.
Mitchell finished with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. The Cavaliers beat the Pistons, 102-94.
After being selected as the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Mitchell quickly made his mark with the Utah Jazz, demonstrating remarkable athleticism and an exceptional ability to lead the team's offense. Following a trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022-2023 season, Mitchell cemented himself as one of the league’s premier scorers. On January 2, 2023, Mitchell scored 71 points against the Chicago Bulls, becoming just the 7th player in NBA history to score 70 or more in a single game. In addition to this record, it was the most points scored by an NBA player since the Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant scored 81 against Toronto in 2006.
At the time of cataloging, Mitchell has career averages of 24.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He is a five-time NBA All-Star, a 2022-2023 All-NBA Second Team selection and named to the 2017-18 All-Rookie 1st Team. Mitchell was also the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest Champion.
