After an injury sidelined him for much of the 2019–20 season, Stephen Curry returned to the court the following season with something to prove. Many wondered if Curry and the Warriors could regain the level of success they reached prior to Kevin Durant’s departure in 2019. Others felt an aging Curry might have lost a step and would not return to his pre-injury form. He proved all his doubters wrong.

In the 2020–21 season, Curry won his second scoring title (32.0 ppg) and almost single-handedly led the Warriors to an appearance in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. A year later, aided by the return of Klay Thompson and the emergence of Andrew Wiggins, Curry and the Warriors claimed their fourth NBA title since 2015.

The two-time NBA MVP averaged 25.5 points per game during the 2021–22 regular season and helped the Warriors achieve the 3rd seed in the Western Conference with a 53–29 record. After dispatching the Denver Nuggets in the first round, the Warriors faced the upstart 2nd seeded Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Semifinals.

In Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals, played at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Curry scored 24 points and added 4 assists and 3 rebounds in a 117–116 Warriors victory. The Warriors ultimately defeated the Grizzlies in six games before beating the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics to claim the seventh NBA title in franchise history. For his efforts, Curry earned his first career NBA Finals MVP award.

This Icon Edition jersey has been photo-matched by The MeiGray Group to May 1, 2022. On that date, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 117–116 in Game 1 of the 2022 Western Conference Semifinals.
