An uncut printers proof for a proposed Queen Radio Ga Ga 1980s Christmas card, signed on the front by Freddie Mercury in blue pen, and a 1980s Freddie Mercury Christmas Card.

The artwork on the front of the card features an image of Queen taken during the video shoot for Radio Ga Ga; this was also the image that was originally going to be used on the 7 inch single sleeve but it was withdrawn. 

It is said that a number of these proofs were signed by Freddie Mercury in Germany in the mid-1980s prior to Christmas and they were then sent back to London where they were intended to be made into Christmas cards. However, this project never materialized and the proofs remained in Freddie’s home, Garden Lodge, for over 35 years. 

Also included is a 1980s day glow pink Christmas card that features a black and white image of Freddie Mercury on the front taken during a photo shoot for Vogue magazine. The text printed inside the card humorously reads ‘Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Preening, Pouting, Posturing, Posing Old Tart’. The card was specially commissioned by Freddie Mercury to send to friends.
