Description
A presentation copy of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, inscribed by the "real" Alice.
Acquired directly by decent of the family. Eva Mulholland (1884-1972) was the only daughter of Lord Dunleath, of Ballywater Park. Though tangential but none the less interesting Eva notes in her diary “My mother’s grandfather was Lord George Hill (Downshire) and my grandmother’s great-aunt was Jane Austen.”
This was a gift from Alice to Eva for her wedding in January of 1910. It is extremely rare to find presentation copies Wonderland inscribed by Alice.
