Brave New World, a dystopian novel by Aldous Huxley published in 1932, presents a future society where technological advancements and state control have eradicated individuality, freedom, and emotional depth. The World State, a global government, maintains order through genetic engineering, conditioning, and the drug "soma," which ensures citizens’ perpetual happiness. People are stratified into rigid castes, from the intelligent Alphas to the menial Epsilons, each conditioned to accept their role without question. In this society, traditional family structures, personal relationships, and religious beliefs are obsolete. Instead, promiscuity is encouraged, and consumerism is the cornerstone of existence. The protagonist, Bernard Marx, an Alpha who feels out of place, questions the superficial contentment around him. His encounter with John, a "Savage" who was raised outside the World State's influence, intensifies his doubts. John, who has a profound attachment to literature and human emotion, becomes a tragic figure as he struggles to reconcile his values with the alien world he encounters.
