• Comprises 23 monochrome watercolor portraits, each followed by an engraved portrait of the subject by Peter van Gunst, et al.
• Portraits comprise: Henry VII, Henry VIII, Catherine d'Arragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Catharine Parre, Edward VI, Mary Stuart; Jane Grey. Queen Mary, Thomas Crammer, William Laud, Charles V [Don Carlos I], Charles I, Henrietta Marie de France, James I, Anne Hyde, George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham, Maurice Prince of Orange, James IV, Marguerite, Queen of James IV of Scotland, Guillaume Premier Prince d'Orange, Hamilton Count of Aran.
• Small crimson leather bookplate of John L. Dudley, Jr.
• 19th-century full gilt-paneled scarlet morocco, richly gilt floral spine compartments, a.e.g. by Bedford.

Inscription reads: "This book was brought to this country by J.W. Bouton of New York some thirty years ago was purchased from him by William H. Piper & Co. of Boston for $250 and was sold to Mrs. Sutton the founder of the Eben Dale Sutton Library (of the Peabody Institute), Salem Mass and was purchased from the estate by Charles Lauriat Co. of Boston. The various person through whos(sic) hands this book has passed are all of the opinion that the drawings are by Adrian van der Werff (1659 & 1722)." Signed in a different hand "John L. Dudley, Jr. June, 1911."
