Condition Report
Signs of wear and handling consistent with age.
Boards with moderate bumping and rubbing to edges and corners of boards and to head and tail of spines.
Significant cracking to front joints and moderate wear to rear joints.
Text blocks moderately age toned with faint damp staining throughout, mostly to margins and not impacting legibility.
Ink ownership inscription of G.B. Windship to title pages of each volume (possibly George Barker Windship, Massachusetts physician and inventor).
Scattered pencil and ink annotations throughout.
Volume 1:
Front board loosening.
Ink annotations to recto of frontispiece and an ink note pinned to verso of front free endpaper.
