- With engraved frontispieces, folding map and two folding plates.
- Bound in full brown calf with blind tooling to boards and red leather labels bearing gilt titling to spines

FairSigns of wear and handling consistent with age.
Boards with moderate bumping and rubbing to edges and corners of boards and to head and tail of spines.
Significant cracking to front joints and moderate wear to rear joints.
Text blocks moderately age toned with faint damp staining throughout, mostly to margins and not impacting legibility.
Ink ownership inscription of G.B. Windship to title pages of each volume (possibly George Barker Windship, Massachusetts physician and inventor).
Scattered pencil and ink annotations throughout.
Volume 1:
Front board loosening.
Ink annotations to recto of frontispiece and an ink note pinned to verso of front free endpaper.
Pencil notes to verso of front free endpaper and verso of final blank leaf.
Volume 2:
Front board nearly detached.
Pencil annotations to second front free endpaper, two rear blank leaves and rear pastedown.
Folding map showing several closed tears, one impacting map but not legibility.
