Description

Danish Modern sterling silver tazza compote made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen.

  • Wide and tapering bowl with flat rim; fruiting grapevine with cast pendant bunches mounted in a circle to the underside.
  • Twisted shaft with lobed knops, one surmounted by fixed bunches and the other applied with beading.
  • Raised and round foot with visible hand-hammering.
  • An early piece in this pattern, which was designed by the master in 1918.
  • Fully marked including maker’s stamps (1925–32) and no. 264B.
