The Nike Air Jordan 5 Retro Florida PE was released by the Jordan Brand as an exclusive for the Florida Gators football team. These special-edition sneakers are part of the Air Jordan 5 Player Exclusives lineup, and designed for a highly select group of college programs. The upper is dressed in a vibrant blue elephant print and an orange Nike Air embroidered heel, orange suede tongue and orange midsole to contrast. The orange detail on the midsole—exemplifying the sneaker’s traditional spike mold design—also includes speckles of blue. Together, the blue and orange represent the University of Florida’s traditional colors. 

Arguably, this Jordan 5’s most striking detail is the famed Gator mascot embroidered on the tongue. As with the entire line of college PE colorways, these Air Jordan 5s were launched strictly for players, staff members, and select family and friends. Approximately only 300 pairs were ever produced, making the Air Jordan 5 "Florida Gators" PE highly coveted on the resale market.
