Francesco Correggia (Italian, b. 1950).

As a member of the Poesia Visiva movement in contemporary Italian painting, the works of Francesco Correggia are an exercise in understanding visual language.

Structure, color and spatial relationships are melded into a defined space, while the words he uses to express our humanity create a powerful and tender work, in every work.

Correggia sky landscapes are rare. Passages of color form and represent the special relationship between the sky and the earth. The sky is “opening up” to the earth. In Correggia’s paintings the line appears low, to draw attention to the great amount of space occupied by the sky as the earth. –Giovanni Iovane

"Today’s artists increasingly employ mixed media using several expressive techniques at the same time, which leads them to experiment with various artistic modes that often result in pure aestheticism.
