Mr. StarCity, also known as David White, is an American multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in New York City. As a self-taught artist growing up in New York, he started his career by painting large-scale street murals. Mr. StarCity often channels the emotional representations of violence and trauma in humans. His more recent paintings typically combine elements of figuration and abstraction and depict an outward reflection of the subject’s internal struggles. Mr. StarCity cares about uplifting and building communities and the emotional well-being of its members, and sees his art as means to achieve this. As such, his use of color and playful forms projects a positive outlook to the future, representing a synthesis between passion and conflict.
