Description

Hanukkah lamp of sterling silver construction with maker's mark CW, probably for Carl Warmuth Jr.

  • The repoussé backplate is in the form of a curtained arch, with a crown surmount above a peacock in its pride.
  • Detachable rack of ewer-form lamps, on shell motif feet.
  • For use with candles.
  • Marked below crown, on backplate below peacock, on apron, on lamp and on rack.
  • Carl Warmuth Sr. was an active silversmith from 1872-1901, and his son, Carl Warmuth Jr., was active 1897-1924.
