It was Rolex's first automatic chronograph and introduced the modern 40mm case size, sapphire crystal, and crown guards to the Daytona line.

The Everose gold case and Oysterflex bracelet give it a warm, contemporary feel, but the real star is the dial: cut from slices of the Gibeon meteorite, which fell in Namibia thousands of years ago. Each dial is unique because of the Widmanstätten patterns, those crystalline structures formed over millions of years of cooling in space.
