This rare vintage Audemars Piguet watch, reference number 5369, is a sleek timepiece designed by Swiss watch designer and artist Gérald Genta circa the 1970s. The watch features a 33.5mm tonneau-shaped case made from stainless steel. On the minimalist cream-colored dial, you’ll find simple index markers and black stick hands for hours, minutes and seconds. It’s powered by a hand-wind Audemars Piguet caliber 2002 and features a black strap with a steel tang buckle.
The watch is in overall very good condition with minor wear throughout commensurate with age. The dial has spotting resulting in discoloration. The strap and buckle have been replaced. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Please be advised that bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) cannot be shipped outside the country of sale. We reserve the right to remove these bands prior to shipping.
