Description

Finely bound first-edition copy of Stevenson's Catriona, originally published as a serialized novel by Atlantic Monthly under the title David Balfour.

  • 371 pages with several pages of advertisements by the publisher at the end of the book.
  • Bound by Sickles in full sage crushed morocco leather, raised bands with gilt titling and strapwork that extends from the bands onto the covers which feature ornamented outer corners with gilt roses, vines and petals in onlaid leather in red, and a central gilt monogram to the front cover, fancy dentelles, green silk endpapers, and the top page ends are gold gilted, and with the original cloth spine and cover are bound into the rear of the book.
