Catalogue Note
Zaman Jassim was born in Al Khobar in 1971, pursuing an artistic career since 1986. Living and working in Al Qatif, Jassim’s work is characterised by the visually striking and evocative forms that mark his mixed-media work, which are often embellished with symbols, patterns and calligraphic signs. He holds a diploma from the Institute of Art Education in Riyadh and has exhibited widely across the Arab world and internationally. Jassim’s works are held in significant collections including the Al Mansouria Foundation and the Barjeel Art Foundation, and in 2011 he was the recipient of the Al Kharafi Biennial Award for Contemporary Arab Art, Kuwait.
