Description

China has perfected the art of lacquering over the centuries, and such storage pieces were given as gifts to mark special occasions, gracing middle- and upper-class homes for generations.

  • A two-door wedding cabinet lacquered in a brilliant red and finely painted with floral designs, and groups of boys and men celebrating with kites and lion dances.
  • Black lacquered interior with two decorated drawers on a fixed shelf.
