Description
Iconic and sculptural Model JH-540 Valet Chair, designed by Hans J. Wegner for cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen in 1953.
- Designed for King Frederik IX of Denmark and fitted for the suit of any well-dressed gentleman.
- Hinged seat of solid teak opens to reveal a storage compartment with leather trim, while providing a rail over which to fold pants.
- Sculptural seat back of solid oak with teak inlay terminates in the single back leg.
- The crest rail is in the form of a hanger.
- Seat is raised on a tripod of round, tapered legs with front stretcher, all in solid oak.
- Finished with brass hardware.
- Stamped with Maker's Mark.
