Property from the Estate of Iris Cornelia Love

Qing Dynasty hand-carved and hand-painted tall folding screen.

  • Consisting of four polychrome lacquer panels with hinges.
  • Each hand-carved panel with a different landscape scene incorporating figures, a lake and pavilions.
  • One with an elaborate compound in the foreground, and an ox at the edge of an octagonal grid of fields surrounding a small pavilion in the distance.
  • Another with a seven-storied tower.
  • All with small identifying plaques located either on a building or bridge.
  • Hand-painted flora and fauna on the reverse.
