Property from an Upper East Side Collection.

Baltic Neoclassical Pier Mirror.

  • Gilt-gesso and paint decorated trumeau-form pier mirror.
  • Of architectural form with projecting still-leaf molded ogee cornice atop a frieze with laurel branches enclosing an arch with a phoenix issuing suspending swags.
  • Original partitioned mirror plate enclosed by egg-and-dart molding.
  • The base with relief frieze flanked by architectural corbels.
  • Of Swedish origin, Late Gustavian/Early Empire.
