A hand-painted French porcelain mythological plaque of Venus and Cupid.

  • Artist J. Pascault after 19th Century Romantic School.
  • A rectangular full-length portrait in a forest brook presented in a giltwood frame.
  • Depicting a winged putto kneeling on a ledge and embracing a standing nude woman from behind.
  • Hands connected across the woman's chest and whispering into the woman's right ear, with hair being held back by the putto's left hand.
  • The woman wearing a flower crown and holding a flower garland at rest in her right hand.
  • Both figures wearing minimal ribbon and drape dress.
