Description

Danish hand-hammered sterling silver bonbonniere box with finial.

  • Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1922 and imported in same year to England by George Stockwell.
  • Bellied bowl with tooled scalloped and lobed rim borders; inset and double-ringed foot.
  • Cover domed with amber finial in beaded mount.
  • Visible hand-hammering.
  • Gilt-washed interior.
  • Marks including maker’s stamp (1915–25), dated Three Tower mark, Christian F. Heise assayer’s stamp (1904–32) and number 221.
  • English import marks including London assay stamp.
