Description

A collection of faux book boxes, each housing 24 Grand Tour plaster intaglios.

  • Sold as a set of 3.
  • Comprising three volumes of faux book boxes, each enclosing two blue paper-lined panels with an assortment of engraved cameos
  • Handwritten table of contents to the inside covers, with gilt-tooled leather bindings.
  • The 24 intaglios are oval-shaped with an exquisite gilt gadrooned border.
  • Made in the studio of Pietro Paoletti (Italian, 1801-1847) in Piazza di Spagna, Rome.
