Description

Early 19th century French Empire mahogany framed convex mirror.

  • Thin gilt bronze laurel wreath trim.
  • Unlike most convex domed mirrors, this mirror has a flatter dome that curves closer to the edges.
  • Convex mirrors originally hung on the walls of dining rooms and were used by footmen to observe the progression of the meal without watching the table directly.
