Pair of Japanese silver gilt and niello novelty salt and pepper shakers.

  • In the form of two Gosho-guruma, an ox-drawn cart used by aristocrats and members of the imperial family.
  • Rectilinear body set on open frame mounted to axis with rotating wheels.
  • Decorated with applied flower heads on niello ground.
  • Marked "STERLING."
