Description
American Art Nouveau repoussé silver martelé fish platter.
- Made by Gorham in Providence on April 6, 1898.
- Shaped and narrow oval well.
- Tapering and chased shoulder.
- At ends are scaly fish heads with eyes and tentacular whiskers.
- Sides are ornamented with cherubs, ferried along in fish-harnessed shells.
- Curvilinear rim.
- Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern number 366 and 950-1000 FINE.
