Description

A group of decorative fertility dolls from Burkina Faso.

  • Sold as a set of 3.
  • Known as biga among the Mossi people, these figures were often carved for young girls.
  • Made after tribally used examples, they exhibit a modern aesthetic and have incised lines representing braids, characteristic facial scars, and, most important, chest and stomach scars worn only by women.
  • Standing on metal mounts.
