Japanese Meiji silver koro incense burner.

  • Koro with drum-form well in globular body on three hoof supports and concave neck.
  • Two scrolled cloud frames with repousse flowers and birds heightened with enamel.
  • Further embellished with enameled insects including butterflies, beetles and a grasshopper.
  • Domed cover with blossoming sunflower finial.
  • Bird-form side handles with loose-mounted rings.
  • Marked.
