  • Curved corners and straight engine-turned sides and bottom.
  • Hinged lid with low-relief decoration.
  • Gilt-washed interior.
  • Engraved inscription: 'To Henry Hayward Esqr / as a Memorial of his Valuable / Services, as Treasurer to the / Wantage Book Club, / Presented May 24th 1845.'
  • Fully marked, including London assay and worn maker’s stamps.
