- Meio (middle) is part of a series of works characterized by a large, irregularly shaped oval in the middle of the canvas, which the artist has explored as a reflection on the making of the pictorial.
- In curator Tadeu Chiarelli’s words, "The mirror, be it as a physical or a metaphorically-charged object, has been tapped into by some Brazilian artists to negate the notion of painting as an idealized reflection of the world, as the ideal duplicate of reality."
