Description

  • Elie Anatole Pavil (Ukrainian, 1873-1948).
  • Quiet domestic interior scene with a seamstress working by hand in her bedroom, complete with body form and sewing machine, near a window overlooking Paris.
  • Described by many as one of the finest expatriate impressionist painters that worked in France, Pavil is known for his ability to capture the light and color of his adopted city.
  • Ornately carved giltwood frame.
  • Restored in recent years by the Balboa Art Conservation Center in San Diego and stored ever since.
