This work is part of an outstanding selection from the Estate of Richard Hambleton, the enigmatic artist whose haunting shadow portraits helped define the urban interventionist spirit of street art in New York during the early 1980s, with a portion of the Estate’s proceeds from the sale to benefit Arts Education at the New Museum of Contemporary Art.

Condition Report
These works are in good condition overall. There is very minor evidence of handling wear at the edges of each sheet, visible upon close inspection. There are scattered smudges throughout each sheet, inherent to the artist's working method. On sheet V. there is an area of pinpoint soiling in the upper right quadrant.
