Carl Fischer (Danish, 1887–1952).
This work is offered unframed.
An early twentieth-century, Post-Impressionist style study of two figures engaged in conversation beside a barrel-organ.
Carl Fischer first studied under Viggo Johansen (1907-12) and, subsequently, in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. He was the recipient of several scholarships, including the Akademie Scholarship (1917) which allowed him to further his studies for two years abroad. Fischer exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards. Throughout his lifetime, he was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Danish Academy of Art's fall invitational exhibition at the Charlottenborg Gallery.
