Description

Man Ray (American, 1890-1976).

Cadeau (or The Gift) is a sculpture of a clothes iron with 14 brass nails glued to its sole.

An iconic work of the Dada movement.

Originally, Cadeau was a one-off piece created in 1921 by Ray as a gift to the gallery owners of his first exhibition, the poet Philippe Soupault and his wife.

Includes box and styrofoam insert.
