Avery Wheless (American, b. 1993).

This work is offered unframed.

Avery Wheless grew up in Petaluma, CA and currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Wheless received a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her paintings explore the existence of the body in regards to the spaces they inhabit. Using a combination of heavy, energized mark making and illustrative strokes on bright underpaintings, Wheless creates a stage on which figures play, capturing her subjects' intimate interactions, as well as their roles as both observers and observed.

comfortability exposed depicts a resting female body enjoying the comforts of home with a feline companion. Wheless’ thick strokes create an impression of the scene, imbuing movement into a quiet, voyeuristic moment.
