Matt Elson (American).
Number 35 from the series of Infinity Boxes.
Accompanied by a user guide.
“I've always made Art, it's what gives life meaning. The Infinity Boxes allow me to fuse sculptural form with painting, optics and perception.”
Matt Elson was trained as a painter at Pratt Institute, received his masters degree in Communications from the New York Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the UCLA Anderson Executive Program. He has a background in computer graphics and artistic animation for feature films with DreamWorks and Disney. Elson created his first “Infinity Box” in 2012 and, since then, the works have been exhibited in seven states, the UK, the Netherlands and Italy.
Each of the Infinity Boxes is completely different from the others, as well as each window being completely different. So, when you've experienced one Infinity Box, you have only experienced one.
The Infinity Boxes are designed to explore human perception and social connection. They are also designed to be production-efficient for exhibition. Their base is based in a stage riser that is then wrapped with a cloth and the box is set on top.
Base: Height 39 inches / Width 44 inches / Depth 3.5 inches
