A group of carved wooden milk jugs.

  • Vessels are covered with finely worked plaited band patterns and handles carved in a stylized monkey form.
  • Used for milking and storing milk or butter among the Sherpa and Tamang, they present with a thickly encrusted patina attesting to years of use.
