Description

A carved Burmese Yaksha in teak, based on an incarnation of the Hindu god Hanuman.

  • Known as mostly benevolent spirits in nature, they are fierce guardians and depicted in art and in temples throughout Southeast Asia.
  • Following the form of a gnarled root, this Yaksha appears to soar through the air while fighting a serpent.
