Each of the edition of 50 plus 12 Artists Proofs includes an original drawing of the now very well-known image of Barack Obama speaking to a crowd of 75,000 people in Portland, Oregon, published on the cover of the International Herald Tribune on 19 May, 2008. The book is a handsome expression of the artist’s production and embraces issues of politics, collaboration and inclusion. For this project, Rirkrit gave the published image to 62 artists from his native country of Thailand who were, in turn, paid by him to draw the image; each copy of the limited-edition publication includes one of these drawings placed in an archival sleeve.
