Exquisitely bound limited-edition copy of Browning's Sonnets From the Portuguese.

  • Hand-illuminated by Ross Turner (American). 
  • New York: George D. Sproul, 1901.
  • Text printed on one side only, of 30 leaves of genuine parchment, with an illuminated initial on each page.
  • Illuminated title page on a separate leaf of parchment.
  • Bound by St. Dunstan in full green morocco, covers display ornate gilt tooling around the edges as well as lighter green inlay in a rectangle and a border around the rectangle, inside this inlay are a central detail and other fine detailing in gilt tooling as well as small details in red inlay, with raised bands gilt with panels displaying gilt-tooled label lettering, top edge gilt with ornate gilt-tooled turn-ins and white morocco doublures, in the center of the doublures is a gilt-tooled pendant displaying a beautiful hand-painted purple flower.
