Paper tax strip torn and partially missing exposing driven cork, fragments of tax srip adhered to both sides of bottle appear to show distillation period 'Spring 1913' (consistent with other examples), driven cork appears to be slightly depressed within the neck of the bottle, front and back labels torn and damaged

National Distillers Museum Collection, acquired by the consignor in 1993

National Distillers Products Corporation (which evolved out of The Whiskey Trust) owned several significant American whiskey distilleries and brands, namely: Old Grand Dad, Old Overholt, Old Crow, Old Taylor, Sunny Brook, Hill and Hill, Mount Vernon, Chicken Cock and Bourbon de Luxe. The wines & spirits business was sold to Jim Beam in 1987. At points in its history, National Distillers bought back several bottles of the whisky it had once produced and displayed them in its 'Museum of Old Bottles', at its headquarters on Park Avenue in New York. This collection of pre-prohibition distilled whiskey was acquired by the consignor directly from the National Distillers Museum in 1993.
