Description

Hoffman Rare Selection 100 Proof NV

Bottled by Hoffman Distilling Co. Lawrenceburg Kentucky, glass code 1988, Japanese import, red wax capsule has large air bubble where the pull tab begins, label soiled and damaged, consigner sticker resideue adhered to the back of the bottle

Located in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, the Hoffman Distillery was falling apart when Julian Van Winkle III purchased it in 1983 as a base for his bottling operation. He filled bottles under his own Old Rip Van Winkle label, as well as very small runs of whiskey under other names, such as this one, the extremely rare Hoffman Red Crown, which he prepared exclusively for export. By then he had renamed the site Old Commonwealth, but chose Hoffman as a tribute to its past.

1 bottle 75cl (no original packaging)
