Offered is a match-worn, signed and inscribed Brazil national team shirt worn by Pelé during the 1959 international season, authenticated by both MEARS and PSA/DNA, and bearing a personal inscription from the man himself to a teammate who shared the pitch with him at the 1970 World Cup.

The back bears Pelé's number 10 in green. The inner collar carries the label of Rio de Janeiro-based manufacturer Ceppo, reading "Superball," with a size designation of "REG."

Across the lower front, in faded black marker, Pelé has added his vintage signature alongside a personal inscription in Portuguese: "Amigo um abraço do Edson = Pelé," meaning "Friend, a hug from Edson = Pelé."

1959 was Pelé's second full season with the Brazilian National Team following their historic first World Cup victory in Sweden in 1958. He was eighteen years old. He had already scored twice in a World Cup final and been declared a national treasure by the Brazilian government to prevent his transfer abroad.

The shirt was gifted by Pelé to José Guilherme Baldocchi, a centre-back who played alongside him on Brazil's 1970 World Cup winning squad in Mexico, the third and final of Pelé's three world championships, and considered by many to be one of the greatest squads ever assembled.
