This England National Team jersey was worn by Bryan Robson on June 6, 1985 during the Ciudad de Mexico Cup, when England faced Italy. 


Bryan Robson captained the English side, but they ultimately fell to Italy 2-1 on a late penalty converted in extra time. The game got off to a slow start, three goals in the last 20 minutes brought the game some late drama.

Bryan Robson is widely regarded as one of the greatest English midfielders of his generation and one of Manchester United’s most influential captains. He began his professional career at West Bromwich Albion, where his dynamic box-to-box style and leadership qualities quickly established him as one of England’s standout talents before earning a move to Manchester United in 1981 for a then-British record fee.


At Old Trafford, Robson became known as “Captain Marvel,” leading the club through the 1980s and early 1990s. During his time at United, he won two FA Cups, one League Cup, and two First Division titles, and he captained the side for over a decade, becoming a symbol of resilience during a transitional period for the club.


On the international stage, Robson earned 90 caps for England between 1980 and 1991, scoring 26 goals. He captained England at the 1982, 1986, and 1990 FIFA World Cups, scoring in each tournament and playing a key role in England’s run to the semi-finals in 1990, where he famously led the team despite playing through injury.


After leaving Manchester United, Robson later moved into player-manager and managerial roles, including spells at Middlesbrough, where he helped guide the club through promotion campaigns and early Premier League stability. and his status as one of the defining English midfielders of the modern era.
