Produced in 2009 to coincide with the Los Angeles Lakers' championship run, the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 "Finals MVP" was designed in the Lakers' home colorway: a white base with Concord and metallic gold accents, purple laces, and scribble-like graphics on the toe box and collar referencing Kobe's statistics from that season, including his 61-point performance against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Associated with the 2009 NBA Finals, in which Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to a five-game victory over the Orlando Magic, claiming his fourth NBA championship and his first NBA Finals MVP award, the shoe marked a pivotal moment in his signature line, widely regarded by players and collectors as one of the most performance-driven basketball shoes ever made.
