Long before Derek Jeter was approaching 3,000 career hits, the Jordan Brand had already made him one of its marquee ambassadors off the hardwood. Beginning in 2002, Jeter became one of the few athletes outside of basketball to carry a full Jordan Brand signature line, a partnership that would span a decade and yield ten distinct models bearing his name.

To mark Jeter's achievement of 3,000 career hits on July 9, 2011, the Jordan Brand, the Turn 2 Foundation, and Steiner Sports collaborated to auction the "DJ3K" collection: a specially designed trunk housing all ten of Jeter's Jordan Brand signature models, each hand-signed and dated with the year in which that model was worn. Only two such trunks exist; the other reportedly resides with Jeter himself.

The ten models included are as follows, each size 11.5:

Some signatures show fading consistent with age and storage. The trunk interior is lined in navy and features individual plaques for each model; the exterior bears Jeter's Jordan Brand logo. Each sneaker is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Steiner Sports and James Spence Authentication (JSA).
