USS New Orleans Recovery Caps and Plaque Presented to Command Module Pilot Stuart Roosa
Two wool USS New Orleans Recovery Caps presented to Apollo 14 Command Module Pilot Stuart Roosa, one personalized with his name embroidered (spelled incorrectly, “Stewart A. Roosa”) in gold thread on the back. Both hats are made of wool, size 7 ¼ and nonadjustable. The additional hat without personalized embroidery has “ROOSA” inscribed on the interior tag in black ink.
TOGETHER WITH: one wooden and brass plaque bearing the insignia of the USS New Orleans LPH-11 (designating the ship as an amphibious assault ship, LPH refers to “Landing Platform Helicopter”). Plaque measures 8 x 10 inches. The plaque is inscribed "ASTRONAUT STUART A. ROOSA / 'APOLLO 14.'"
ACCOMPANIED BY: a personalized, Apollo 14 commemorative zippo lighter in original box with warranty pamphlet. .
