FLOWN TO THE LUNAR SURFACE ON APOLLO 11

Apollo 11 LM Lunar Surface Checklist covers, Part No. SKB32100074-363, S/N 1001, [Houston, Texas: NASA, Manned Spacecraft Center]. 8 by 6 inches. Original printed thick card stock covers.

Directly from the Personal Collection of Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin

The Apollo 11 Lunar Surface checklist listed procedures necessary to fulfill the historic landing on the Moon. This incredibly important document detailed step by step procedures that allowed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to land on the Moon, exit the LM, walk on the lunar surface, and return to the Command Module Columbia.

BUZZ ALDRIN'S provenance letter reads, in full: "On July 16th, 1969, Neil Armstrong, Mike Collins, and I lifted off from Pad 39A at the John F. Kennedy Space Center on our journey to perform humankind's first landing on the Moon at the Sea of Tranquility. The covers which accompany this letter are from the Apollo 11 LM Lunar Surface Checklist, Part No SKB32100074-363, S.N 1001, which listed all procedures necessary for Neil and I to make our historic landing and walk on the Moon from the Lunar Module.

This Lunar Surface Checklist cover is one of the few objects carried to the lunar surface and is also a rare example of an astronaut flight-certified object used during our mission to be the first humans to land on the Moon."
