Description
This Selmer Truvoice Stadium amplifier (18 ¾” L x 10 ½” W x 21 ½” H) was used by The Beatles and other bands at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany, in 1962. The amp was donated to the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation by a family member who owned the Star-Club. Includes three vacuum tubes.
With letter of authenticity from Peter Bradley Jr. from the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation as well as photograph of Bradley with the amplifier.
The Beatles' live performances at the Star-Club in Hamburg in late 1962 are legendary for giving them space to hone their sound just before their global breakthrough. While Pete Best was the drummer for their earliest Hamburg stints, Ringo Starr had officially joined by their final residency in December 1962, providing the steady, driving backbeat that defined their polished yet raw live energy.
