Jimmy Page pioneered the use of the double-neck guitar during live performances so he could quickly change from a 6-string to 12-string instrument mid-performance. He had a custom Gibson EDS-1275 double-neck made to his specifications, specifically to perform “Stairway to Heaven.” It immediately became an iconic guitar that other artists would emulate. The present Cozart guitar is patterned after the EDS-1275.
